Сложная история у новой и очень редкой версии Ягуара XE: в 2017-м британцы построили полноприводный 600-сильный XE SV Project 8, чтобы удивлять суперкары на кольцевых трассах. Потом они проехали Нюрбургринг за рекордные для дорожных седанов 7:21.23 (правда, на предсерийном прототипе). Далее несколько доработали конструкцию, запустив в ограниченную серию (300 штук). А теперь взяли, да и превратили тот безумный аппарат в слипер. Встречайте седан Jaguar XE SV Project 8 Touring specification.
Пятилитровый компрессорный мотор с максимальным крутящим моментом 700 Н•м по-прежнему разгоняет такой седан XE с нуля до сотни за 3,7 с, как и в случае исходного варианта Project 8. А вот максималка у Туринга чуть ниже: 300 км/ч (ограниченные электроникой) против 322.
Конечно, если сравнивать Touring с обычным XE, жаргонное словечко «слипер» не очень подходит, ведь различия всё равно бросаются в глаза: 20-дюймовые колёса, за которыми просматриваются огромные тормозные диски, изменённые бамперы, капот с вентиляционной прорезью. Но зато вместо устрашающего настраиваемого антикрыла на Туринге установлен скромный на вид спойлер. Для тех, кто не хочет издалека выделяться в потоке. А копнуть поглубже, тут и мощный двигатель, и существенно доработанное шасси и модернизированный «скорострельный автомат».
Седан можно будет заказать в одном из четырёх цветов: Valencia Orange, Velocity Blue, Corris Grey Satin и British Racing Green, плюс в виде опции — разные полосы и графика. Машины будут собраны вручную в техническом центре отделения Special Vehicle Operations в Уорвикшире.
Компания считает седан XE SV Project 8 Touring идеологическим наследником Ягуаров «Coombs» Mk II шестидесятых и «Broadspeed» XJC семидесятых. Правда, те готовили к гонкам. Первый сотворило ателье Coombs of Guildford гонщика Джона Кумбса. Второй — Broadspeed Engineering. Главное, что все они получили модификации в шасси и моторах (это были рядная шестёрка 3.8 и V12 5.3 соответственно) и выпущены малыми тиражами.
Версия Jaguar XE SV Project 8 Touring specification будет выпущена тиражом всего в 15 экземпляров. Цену компания не указала, но вряд ли она окажется ниже, чем стартовый прайс на исходный XE SV Project 8 (от 149 995 фунтов или 12,4 млн рублей). Все Туринги получат исключительно четырёхместный салон, тогда как простой Project 8 ещё можно заказать и в четырёхместном виде, и с пакетом Track Pack, включающим двухместную конфигурацию с ковшами и каркасом.

The wing’s angle of attack can be fine tuned either to reduce drag or maximise downforce – producing up to 122kg of downforce once you reach 186mph.

Saving 18kg, Project 8 has the largest and most technologically advanced brakes ever fitted to a Jaguar – vast 400mm carbon ceramic discs with huge 6-piston calipers up front. Lightweight forged alloy wheels and specially developed Michelin Sport Cup 2 tyres combine superior handling with outstanding grip and comfort.
A REAL CONNECTION TO THE ROAD
All Wheel Drive ensures superb responsiveness, traction and agility. No Jaguar feels more ‘alive’. The handling is rear-drive biased, like a two-door supercar. The Intelligent Driveline Dynamics includes an Electronic Active Differential, as part of the advanced computer-controlled drive set-up. For ultimate performance, Project 8’s uniquely tuned version of Adaptive Dynamics includes a new Track Mode.
RACING SEATS
Carbon fibre racing seats are available for those who want the two-seat track-oriented Project 8. They’re fitted with four-point competition harnesses. A multi-point harness retention hoop replaces the rear seats. The road-biased version of Project 8 features four seats trimmed in Ebony leather with Oyster contrast stitching. The front pair are special lightweight magnesium-framed Performance seats.
TOURING SPOILER
Available on 15 limited-edition Project 8 builds, a fixed touring spoiler delivers a more understated profile and enhanced rear visibility, while maintaining the vehicle’s aerodynamic performance and explosive acceleration. Although maximum down-force potential is reduced, high-speed stability remains supremely assured.
WHEELS
The special lightweight forged alloy wheels are stronger and lighter than conventional cast alloy, delivering superior handling. The wheel’s unique design reduces drag by 7 counts, while specially developed Michelin Sport Cup 2 tyres combine outstanding grip with comfort – making them perfect for road or track.
